Hilltop House is a three storey Georgian farmhouse enjoying panoramic views and only a mile to the south of Ironbridge, a world heritage site that pays tribute to the industrial revolution that took place in and around the gorge 250 years ago.
We offer comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in spacious and well-proportioned rooms.
We pride ourselves on our home-cooked breakfasts, featuring local produce. We can cater for vegitarian and other special dietary requirements, with seasonal variations.
Packed lunches can be prepared with prior notice and there is a good pub only 10 minutes walk away.
Charles and Vicky Dornton, the current proprietors, look forward to welcoming you to their home. There is ample parking and a large well laid out garden, which we invite you to share with us.
The house, built in the 18th Century, was part of the Benthall estate and has historical links with Ironbridge.
The house was previously owned by the Roden family, and Sergeant Roden, in the 18th Century, was one of the twelve subscribing members who funded the construction of the Iron Bridge.
The house still retains many of its original features including cast iron Coalbrookdale fireplaces in all the bedrooms, shutters in the lounge and sitting room and an impressive oak fire surround in the dining room, which still has the original quarry tile flooring.
Guests have the comfort of their own lounge to relax in.
